Date: 2016-10-21 07:25 pm (UTC)It wasn't uncommon to beat witness to a brief glimpse into a rat's journey through Hightown, perhaps during a walk, but in this particular alley at this very moment, one small rat had chosen to pause in it's daily food finding grind.
The sand had clearly poured throughout the night to form a rat-sized mountain up against the bag, and rolling hills stretching across the length of the alley to the opposite wall. It could have been possible that the tantalising smells that had brought this little rat to this particular part of town were coming from something buried in the depths of the sand mountain.
A taller creature, the ones on two long legs for example would have been able to let the little rat know that those smells were the by-product of a luncheon taking place at the very end of those rolling sand dunes, but there were no cross-species friendships to begin today. No miracle of inter-creature communication.
So the rat began to dig, somewhere near the North side of sand mountain.
